7) परंतु त्याचा मालक खूप क्रूर असतो.

8) त्याच्या राज्यात असा नियम असतो की मालक कितीही क्रूर असू दे, गुलाम त्याला सोडून जाऊ शकत नाही. 

9) गुलाम जर का त्याला सोडून पळाला, तर तो खूप मोठा गुन्हा मानला जाई.

15) त्या सिंहाला पाहून एंड्रोकल्स तिथून पळून जाण्याचा विचार करतो. परंतु तो सिंह, एंड्रोकल्सवर हल्ला करत नाही.

16) उलट त्याकडे दयनीय अवस्थेने पाहत उभा राहतो. तेव्हा एंड्रोकल्सला समजते की या सिंहाला काहीतरी दुखापत झालेली आहे.

17) एंड्रोकल्स हळू हळू घाबरत घाबरत त्याच्या जवळ जातो. तेव्हा सिंह त्याच्या पायाला, पुढच्या पंजाला जिभेने चाटत असतो.

18) त्यावरून एंड्रोकल्सला समजते की या सिंहाला पायाला दुखापत झालेली आहे.

19) तो बघतो तर एक काटा रुतलेला असतो त्या पायामध्ये, एंड्रोकल्स तो काटा हळुवारपणे काढतो आणि आपल्या कपड्याचा एक तुकडा तोडून त्याला बँडेज बांधतो.

20) असंच पुढचे काही दिवस चालू राहते. 

21) एंड्रोकल्स आणि तो सिंह एकमेकांसोबत राहतात. एकमेकांचे मित्र बनतात. 

22) तो सिंह आता शिकार करू शकत नसल्यामुळे एंड्रोकल्स शिकार करून आणतो आणि आपल्या शिकारीचा काही भाग त्या सिंहाला खायला देतो.

23) "मध्यंतरी ॲन्ड्रोकल्सचा मालक  राजाकडे जाऊन ॲन्ड्रोकल्स पळून गेला आहे याबद्दल तक्रार करतो.

24) राजाचे सैन्य ॲन्ड्रोकल्सला शोधण्यासाठी जंगलात आलेले असते. 

25) ॲन्ड्रोकल्स जंगलामध्ये शिकारीच्या शोधात गेलेला असतो आणि गुहेमध्ये सिंह आराम करत असतो.

26) राजाचे सैन्य ॲन्ड्रोकल्सला आणि सिंहाला दोघांना पकडतात आणि शहरात घेऊन येतात. 

27) ॲन्ड्रोकल्सला साखळ्या बांधून तुरुंगात ठेवले जाते. तर सिंहाला पिंजऱ्यामध्ये कैद केले जाते. 

28) काही दिवसांनंतर एक सर्कस भरवली जाते. 

29) सर्कसमध्ये एका भल्यामोठ्या पिंजऱ्यामध्ये ॲन्ड्रोकल्सला सोडले जाते. 

30) त्याकाळी त्यांच्या राज्यामध्ये असा नियम असतो की जर का कोणी गुलाम त्याच्या मालकाला सोडून पळून जायचा प्रयत्न करेल, तर तो एक खूप मोठा गुन्हा मानला जात असे आणि त्याला शिक्षा म्हणून जंगली प्राण्यांच्या समोर टाकून दिले जाई.

37) सिंहाला अचानक अंगावर आलेलं पाहून आणि काही अंतरावर अचानक थांबलेलं पाहून, ॲन्ड्रोकल्स गोधळून जातो. नंतर त्याला समजते की तो सिंह दुसरा-तिसरा कोणी नसून, तोच सिंह होता ज्याला त्याने जंगलामध्ये मदत केली होती. 

38) सिंहाला सुद्धा ॲन्ड्रोकल्स असल्याचं समजते. दोन्ही मित्र खूप दिवसांनंतर एकमेकांना भेटतात, एकमेकांना मिठी मारतात. 

39) हे सगळं पाहून सर्कसमध्ये बघण्यासाठी जमलेला राजा आणि प्रजा. दोन्ही खुश होतात, भारावून जातात. 

40) नंतर राजा ॲन्ड्रोकल्सला विचारतो, काय घडले त्याबाबत. ॲन्ड्रोकल्स तपशीलवार सगळ्या घटनेची माहिती राजाला देतो.
